Furnish Baked Items for Sale

Bake your favorite or specialty and contribute it to the Relief Sale. Consider making cinnamon rolls, bread, cake, cookies, noodles, gluten-free items, jams/jellies, peppernuts, dinner rolls, and dried fruit. See the Food Packaged for Sale and Food Information pages for more information.

Have a Green Thumb? Donate House Plants or Perennials for the Plant Sale!

If you enjoy gardening or raising house plants and have several to spare, donating any of these items to the Relief Sale will help boost funding for MCC!

African Violets, large and small house plants, and perennials are all very popular and sell well at the Sale. Dried arrangements and individual dried stalks like Hydrangeas also sell very well.

Start plant cuttings and transplant perennial starts now to prepare more plants and perennials for the sale in September!

Volunteer to help with recycling:

Our aim is to compost and recycle as much of our waste as possible. This takes a lot of people-power to make happen. Consider helping with the recycling effort. Stay tuned for specific ways to help.

Volunteer to Help with Children’s Activities

The Children’s Activities format involves lots of volunteers. Come have fun with the kids! There will be carnival games and activities as well as volunteer and learning opportunities. See the Children’s Activities page for more details. Youth groups are encouraged to “adopt” a game to help staff it but individuals are welcome as well. Contact Children’s Activities Chair Sonya Overman at preschoolsonya@gmail.com for more information.

Lend a hand at food and other booths on Sale Day

There are many sponsors of food booths who would love to have a helping hand setting up, preparing food prior to the Relief Sale, or working at the booth on Sale Day. Offering your services for a few hours during this time can make a difference! Contact Chris Yoder, Food Committee Board Chair, at 574-536-9654 or wovenfriendships@gmail.com if you would like to help. Volunteers are also needed in the Ten Thousand Villages and plants booths. Call 888-503-8559 or email mennonitesale@yahoo.com to volunteer.

Offer to have a Yard Sign in your Yard

An easy way to help is to let others know about the Sale! Having a yard sign in your yard from August to Sale Day acts as a reminder to the public and really helps to draw in crowds to the Sale. To volunteer your yard for a sign, call the Relief Sale office at 888-503-8559 or email mennonitesale@yahoo.com.
